A new family physician resident, Kamilė Dumalakaitė, has joined the team at the Alytus District Primary Health Care Center. The young doctor will develop her professional skills while working with family physician Laura Bieliauskaitė-Svetlauskienė.

The future physician is excited about the opportunity to work at the Alytus District Primary Health Care Center – the excellent working conditions and the friendly environment have positively influenced her. "Head of the institution Giedrė Ilgūnaitė, family physician, and the nurse warmly welcomed me. There is no fear in asking questions about any concerns," said family physician resident Kamilė Dumalakaitė.

While studying at the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences, Kamilė decided to specialize in family physician. A stable work schedule and the opportunity to create feedback with patients were key factors that influenced the young doctor's professional path.

"When communicating with patients, I enjoy not only talking about illnesses but also listening to their stories. Especially when working with elderly patients, it is important to pay attention to every complaint. I take health problems seriously, and I approach patients in a friendly manner," said family physician resident Kamilė.

The young doctor, who is practicing family physician at the Alytus District Primary Health Care Center, focuses primarily on improving practical knowledge and skills necessary for further success in the family physician profession. The resident is learning to apply the principles of diagnosing and treating both children’s and adults' illnesses.

"The work of a family physician is very broad – it’s not just about treating patients but also filling out various documents. That is why, while working with a physician, I try to delve into every situation carefully, remembering as much information as possible, which will be useful when I start working independently," said the family physician resident gaining experience at the Alytus District Primary Health Care Center.
